Sr Jane GeggSister Jane Gegg, ASC, teacher/tutor, is a member of the religious community of Adorers of the Blood of Christ.   She has taught young children for more than 40 years, serving the children and families in the English Tutoring Project for the last five years. She has taught in rural schools as well as in the inner city of East St. Louis, Illinois, and in the Mexican community of Fairmont City, Illinois.  Sister Jane loves teaching and is blessed to be able to minister to the immigrant and refugee children and their families that she meets in the English Tutoring Project.  Sister Jane teaches ETP students in Grades K – 4 at St. Frances Cabrini Academy.


SANYO DIGITAL CAMERASister Carolyn Pozarich, CPPS, teacher/tutor, has mostly worked with children of Hispanic cultures in her years of teaching. She taught at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral School in New Mexico for nine years before going to Bolivia. Sister Carolyn served in Bolivia for eight years, caring for street boys and teaching in a school for those who had lived on the streets. Sister Carolyn then taught second grade at St. Cecilia School in St. Louis, Missouri, for 10 years before starting with the English Tutoring Project.  Sister Carolyn teaches all grades in ETP at Holy Trinity Catholic School in St. Ann, MO.  She also assists parents who do not understand English as able and requested.


AnneSister Anne Henehan, RSM, teacher/tutor, has been involved in teaching ESL to adults and children throughout her teaching career including time with the International Institute of Saint Louis teaching adult immigrants and refugees.  She has worked/lived in Spain, Mexico, and Slovenia at various times.  Sister is serving as an ETP teacher at St. Cecilia Catholic School and Academy in South St. Louis City.


SrPauletteSister Paulette Zimmerman, SSND, teacher/tutor, is an experienced educator in Catholic elementary and secondary schools in the greater St. Louis area and Jefferson City, MO.  She has worked with a broad spectrum of ages including ESL students at St. Louis Community College, Florissant Valley and adult literacy through the YMCA program in St. Louis.  Sister has spent time working with others in the area on many social and ecological justice issues.  Sister Paulette is serving ETP students of all grades at St. Joan of Arc School, St. Louis, MO.


LLasherMrs. Lisa T. Lasher, teacher/tutor has 13 years of experience successfully teaching children in primary grades the skills of literacy.  She has also served in various leadership positions with other teachers and in various roles at the school.  Lisa is proud to be the mother of two sons who are successfully establishing their life as young adults.  She joined the English Tutoring Project in 2015 and is looking forward to the possibility of working in the program into the future.  Lisa is serving students who attend St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School in St. Charles, MO.  She has enjoyed setting up the new program at St. Charles Borromeo as part of our expansion program.


OConnor_Louise_MargaretSister Louise O’Connor, SSND, teacher/tutor, is an experienced elementary school teacher.  Sister Louise taught and administered schools in various states including Illinois and Missouri.  She brings to her work as tutor the experience of serving as a missionary in Sierre Leone, West Africa and has also participated in mission trips to Belize, Central America.  Sister Louise brings enthusiasm and a love for assisting youth to reach their potential.  She is serving students through the English Tutoring Project at Marian Middle School in St. Louis, MO and younger students at St. Cecilia.  The program at Marian Middle is an adapted program 2 days a week during enrichment after school.  The program at St. Cecilia is a regular ETP program during the school day.


Sister Diane Schlueter, OSF, teacher/tutor, is a Franciscan Sister of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. During the past fifty years, she has taught all grades from first through eighth.  She also ministered at her community’s Child Care Center working with 4 year old children. She then became the Director of the center.  Her teaching adventures were mostly in the Mid-Western states. She is looking forward to being a part of ETP beginning in fall of 2018 and being with the families and students at St. Stephen Protomartyr and St. Frances Cabrini Academy.
